Papua New Guinea is developing the tourism industry and in recent years more hotels have opened and improving tourism infrastructure. Everything about this country is unspoiled and therefore naturally rough around the edges, which makes Papua New Guinea a superb choice for those looking to get off the beaten path. From the jagged limestone cliffs and coastline to mud and moss forests, this is a hiker's dream come true. Unique tropical animals abound, and visitors can easily spot small tree kangaroos or gigantic Queen Alexandra Birdwing butterflies in the vast and remote PNG countryside.

Vanuatu is not a well-trodden travel destination primarily because of its lack of infrastructure, but also because it is not a cheap place to travel. The largest city, Port Vila on the island of Efate , is more like a town with just two paved roads and a few essential stores, but it sees the highest population of tourists as the only international airport is about twenty minutes from the city center.

American Samoa is an Island situated at the main center of Polynesia . It consists of seven Islands : the commonly known ones are Ofu, Olosega and Tau, which have volcanic origins. Of more interest to visitors is the chieftaincy structure with which Samoan community has been administered; which civilization has not been able to take away from Samoan culture.

Solomon Islands stand out among other South Pacific Islands because of the exceptionally large number of Islands it is comprised of- 1000 Islands in total. Cook Islands are significant parts of Polynesia, strategically located 3,500 km northeast New Zealand and 1000km southwest a neighboring Island of Tahiti. Recently, Cook Islands have become the ideal places for people who are constantly in search of quiet and naturally beautiful beaches. New Caledonia has some of the richest marine life in the world, as both its freshwater and ocean ecology are diverse and extremely unique. The country's fresh water rivers and streams are home to many native species. Scuba divers and snorkelers enjoy immensely the New Caledonia Barrier Reef , which is off the coast of Grande Terre and the Isle of Pines (Île des Pins) and is the second-largest coral reef in the world. Over 1,500 kilometers long, this reef is home to endangered dugongs (or sea cows), and continues to be a nesting site for green sea turtles. In addition, the Nautilus, a living-fossil species which existed during the pre-historic age of the dinosaurs, still survives in the waters surrounding New Caledonia.
